As anyone who has ever planned their network knows, terminating Ethernet cables isn’t necessarily hard. It can be a tedious process, though, and it is necessary to speed and functionality to get it correct. If you have a lot of cables to connect or if you’re a network professional, the amount of time spent on getting conductors just right can be frustrating and even wasteful.
Platinum Tools, a leading designer and manufacturer of network wiring instruments, has created a patented EZ system to eliminate many of the headaches associated with those tiny connectors. Product number 100035 is a 50-pack of EZ-RJ45 Cat5E strain-relief boots. These boots can only be used with EZ-RJ45 Cat5E connectors. When used with a connector, they help protect the cable from snags and relieve stress from bends and pressure.
The Difference
The initial steps for adding an EZ-RJ45 connector onto an Ethernet cable is the same. Slide the 100035 strain relief boot onto the cable as soon as you slip off the length you want. The unique design of these boots locks to the EZ-RJ45 end for easy all-at-once connections. Remove an inch and a half of the jacket. Untwist the pairs and line them up according to your chosen wiring diagram. Then insert the cable into the EZ-RJ45 connector, which is sold separately. Thanks to the all-transparent pull-through design, you can quickly check to make sure the correct wire pinout has been maintained by checking the wires that have come out the end of the connector and by looking into the body of the connector itself. Once everything is lined up properly, crimp the connector on. The EZ-RJ45 tool will crimp and cut away the extra wire all in one squeeze.
Perfect for any networking application where Plenum Rated network cable is a requirement. FireFold's Cat5e Plenum Rated Bulk Cable is a must-have for any extensive networking installation. This cable is ideal for government installations that require USA Made products
Plenum (CMP) Rated PVC Jacket
Plenum rated Cat5E cable contains a flame retardant PVC jacket and is designed for cable runs being laid in spaces defined as "Air Plenums", this includes raised flooring systems, air handling ducts, etc. Plenum jackets produce less smoke than traditional PVC jackets.
Category 5
Considered the Industry Standard for most network installations, Category 5 (Cat5E, or Cat5) is a "twisted pair" network cable used for carrying data signals at speeds of up to 350MHz of Bandwidth.
Solid Cable Design
Designed for more straight-forward, simple installations, this particular style of Solid cable is perfect for most installations where cable runs do not require several bends and twists in the line.
24 AWG
For this particular cable, the gauge is 24 AWG, which is a diameter of about 0.0201 Inches, or 0.511mm. 24AWG is the Industry Standard for any typical network cable installation. American Wire Guage (AWG) is the standardized gauging system for measuring wire sizes.
Pull-Through Design
Since bulk cable is generally used in intervals, the box that it comes in is almost as important as the cable itself. This is the reason why our boxes are reinforced to provide excellent protection and are made with a simple pull-through design to keep your bulk cable free of kinks and knots while being pulled from the box.
