The End of the Line
And that’s how the entire internet leads to cat pictures. “Telephone” was always an annoying game, and there’s no reason to hear it from a friend of a friend. Skip the middle man and avoid misunderstanding by investing in Vertical Cable's 043-400/66K. Although it is slowly being replaced by Cat5E and Cat6 networks, this gadget is used to separate and route the telephone lines as they come into a home or office. This particular product is a kit that comes with one telephone punch down block and one wall mounting bracket. Vertical Cable
s 66-blocks accommodate 25 pairs of 22 to 26 AWG solid copper wire with a solid construction we can stand behind. Both the block and the bracket come with our signature lifetime warranty, protecting you from any manufacturer misfortunes.
Installation is fairly simple and, if you’ve never used one before, wiring diagrams can be readily found on the internet. A punch down tool with a 66 blade is required for solidly securing the wires into their slots. FireFold sells a variety of impact and non-impact punch down tools. When using these tools, be sure to keep the blade level. Twisting it can bend the pins on the block. Specialty tools for pushing and maneuvering the wires can also be helpful but these are often unnecessary. Always mount the bracket to the wall first then pass the cables through, making sure you leave extra slack in case a termination needs to be redone or fixed later. Labeling the connections is optional, but it helps with any potential future troubleshooting.
