Our passive QSFP28 to SFP28 DAC twinax breakout cable is an energy-efficient, low-latency, and cost-effective alternative to fiber optic and RJ45 cabling. It is an excellent choice for short-distance structured cabling between switches, routers, servers, or storage, whether in Top of Rack (ToR) setups, adjacent racks, switch stacking, or similar deployments.

Consuming less than 0.15 W, this passive DAC helps reduce operating expenses and produces zero heat in use. Its robust design supports operating temperatures up to 70 °C (158 °F), making it suitable for demanding data center environments.

Lower cost and simpler deployment than fiber optics

With fewer internal components than fiber optic cables, DAC breakout cables are more affordable and do not require separate transceivers, reducing both cost and complexity. Hot-swappable connectors allow for quick, seamless network upgrades or replacements without downtime, and unlike fiber, used DAC cables do not require cleaning before reuse.

Lower latency than RJ45

This DAC supports data transfer rates of up to 25Gbps per SFP+ channel, for an aggregated total of 100 Gbps. Compared to RJ45 twisted-pair cabling, its design provides lower signal latency, which is crucial for high-performance networking.

Cleerline™ Standard Media Converters are non-managed stand-alone media extender, with speeds of 1G. The SFP slot allows for both Gigabit and Fast Ethernet operation, and can accept all SFP types, including multimode, single-mode, CWDM, DWDM, or BiDi. BiDi allows bi-directional transmission over a single strand of fiber.

25G SFP28 LR Transceiver SM 1310nm, 10Km reach, Dual LC

Cleerline™ SSF-SFP28-25GLR is a high performance 25G/28G LR single-mode and multi-rate SFP28 transceiver using 1310nm wavelength and reaching up to 10Km distance over 9/125um fibers. The module can be used for 25G Ethernet transmissions, and it is the building block of 100G single-mode fiber LR4 type transceivers.

The LR standard is used for medium and short-range fiber connections, due to increasingly popular single-mode fiber plant and very affordable costs. The SFP28 25G transceiver is backwards compatible with the SFP+ 10G rated transceivers.

The transceivers follow the industry standards of SFP Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) and SFF-8472, making them directly interchangeable with any networking device following industry standards.
