This majestic master of electricity is used to tap into precious fuel and direct it to the hungry electronic beasts that require it to function. Born to connect to the device end of an existing computer power cable, this mighty power cord can accept power from most North American outlets designed for the hot, neutral, and ground configuration.
On the one side, the IEC-320 female connector mates perfectly with many devices. The IEC-320 can be seen on the posterior plains of most desktop PC computers, but they are also frequently spotted as the power-rich ports of many televisions and monitors. On the other side is an IEC-320 male end which is typically used to plug in a standard computer power cord. The humble 18 AWG conductors of this 6’ three-prong cord have been observed successfully carrying up to 125V, 10A, and 1250W of AC juice.
