The Simply45® ProSeries introduces the exclusive Cap45® (PATENT 10,811,831 B1). Cap45® is an isolation cap/bar that snaps onto the front of the pass-through RJ45 plug after termination, covering the exposed wire ends. Cap45® prevents electrical shorting in the RJ45 socket due to improperly trimmed wires or in device sockets that may not be 100% compliant. With Cap45®, any electrical risks associated with exposed wire ends are now eliminated completely.
Cap45® is a MUST-HAVE for all pass-through RJ45 modular plugs used in commercial and certified system terminations.
Single Piece Design. The S45-1600P is a single-piece unshielded pass-through RJ45 modular plug for use with unshielded LAN cables. No-load bar required. Supports performance standards: ANSI/TIA 568.2-D for Cat6 and Cat6a; ISO/IEC 11801 Class E and Ea. Supports 10GBaseT performance applications over unshielded twisted pair cables.Cap45® (PATENT: 10,811,831 B1). 3 Prong Pin Design with 50µ of True 24ct Gold Plating. All Simply45® pass-through RJ45 modular plugs use only 50µ 24ct gold plated 3-Prong pin design instead of a 2-Prong design as found on most other pass-through RJ45 modular plugs. A 3-Prong pin provides 3 points of contact with the copper wire conductor instead of 2. This improves electrical performance and signal integrity. A 3-prong pin also holds stronger onto the wire conductors.
Solid and Stranded LAN Cables. The S45-1600P is ideal for most Cat6 UTP (unshielded twisted pair) solid 23 AWG LAN cables with a maximum cable diameter of 7.0mm (0.276”). The S45-1600P works great with stranded unshielded LAN cables such as those used on patch cords/leads. Our parts S45-1600P, S45-1601P, and S45-1700P all work with most stranded unshielded Cat5e and Cat6 LAN cables, but if your stranded LAN cable has a thicker outer jacket or larger cable OD commonly found on PUR jackets, then our S45-1700 may be the right solution for you.
Straight-Line Wire Insert. LAN cable wire conductors are easily inserted in a straight-line arrangement out through the front of the unshielded RJ45 pass-through modular plug. The S45-1600P accommodates 23-24 AWG Solid and 28-26 AWG stranded LAN cable wire conductor sizes 0.95mm – 1.05mm (0.037” – 0.041”). For larger UTP wire conductor sizes, please refer to our Staggered Hi/Lo wire alignment found on the Simply45® part S45-1700 or S45-1700P.
Improved Crosstalk Performance. The unique internal design of the S45-1600P pass-through RJ45 modular plug allows the LAN cable to be inserted further into the RJ45 plug. This reduces the length of untwisted wires improving NEXT performance. The S45-1600P accommodates most Cat6 LAN cables. If your LAN cable has a larger wire conductor OD than the typical Cat6, we recommend using our part S45-1700 or S45-1700P pass-through RJ45 modular plugs.
Crimp Tool Compatibility. S45-C100 or S45-C101.
Commercial Rated. These RJ45 mod plugs are UL94 V0 (IEC 60695-11-10) rated for all commercial installations. These RJ45 mod plugs are recommended for CMP Plenum, CMR, CM; and LSZH up to B2ca rated LAN cables.
