6 Movies That Are Better With a Home Theater Speaker System
Home Theater Speaker System - Movies That Sound Amazing Watching movies at home is a better experience than ever before, thanks to the proliferation of TV-related technologies over the past several years. From 3D to 4K, it has never been easier (or more affordable) to recreate the movie theater experience in your home. Of course, having a great screen is only one part of the equation. If you truly want to immerse yourself in one of the classic cinematic adventures, you need to take advantage of a home theater speaker system that is up to the challenge. The following are movies that will make your home theater speaker system worth every penny:

Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World

In theaters, this film utilized some of the most well-designed surround sound possible, so having an appropriately powerful system at home will ensure that you get the full impact and immersion that was created when this movie was in theaters. If you did not have a chance to see this movie when it was actually in theaters, do yourself a favor and check it out (after installing your home theater speaker system of course). Try not to get seasick!

The Dark Knight

The Dark Knight stands as one of the best (some would say the best) superhero movies made thus far, and Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker is still as haunting and impressive today as the day this film came out. What is sometimes under-appreciated is the fantastic and heavy musical score composed by Hans Zimmer. The iconic heavy bass of this movie is designed for a high-quality speaker system.

Jurassic Park

Steven Spielberg made cinematic history when he released Jurassic Park in 1993. Even though you've probably seen this movie at least once or twice (who has not?), it is worth watching again with a home theater speaker system. In addition to the epic film score produced by John Williams, there is simply nothing quite like the terrifying feeling you get when you first hear the T-Rex's earth-shaking footsteps. Also, if you do not feel at least a little terrified the first time you hear the T-Rex's roar, you must have nerves of steel!

Moulin Rouge!

While this movie is not for everyone, anyone who enjoys big musical numbers needs to watch this movie using a home theater speaker system. Craig Armstrong's all-original score for this movie was strong enough to win a Golden Globe (with the film itself earning an additional 5 Golden Globes), so make sure to play the music on a system worthy of such acclaim!

2001: A Space Odyssey

2001: A Space Odyssey is widely regarded as one of the best sci-fi movies ever made. Over the course of two and a half hours, you'll be taken on a psychedelic journey that will make you question humanity's place in the universe. Of course, nearly two hours of this sci-fi epic contains no dialogue, only music, so having a great sound system is more important here than in perhaps any other movie on this list (and that is saying something!).

Star Wars

The musical score of Star Wars is known by millions of people across multiple generations, and the sounds of TIE fighters whizzing past and lightsabers clashing are as incredible today as they were almost 40 years ago. What better time to revisit the epic saga of Star Wars than in the days before the new JJ Abrams-produced Star Wars film is released? These are just a few movies that will sound fantastic on a home theater speaker system. Let us know what other movie's you'd recommend and we might write about them in a future post!
