Plenum cables are most commonly required to meet building codes in office buildings and, occasionally, homes. The word “plenum” describes an area where air circulates like above a drop ceiling. These areas are held to stiffer fire safety standards and they necessitate the use of specially rated cables. In the event of a fire, the unique environment in plenum spaces lends itself to a rapid spread of flames and noxious smoke. To meet plenum specifications, cables must be covered in a fire-retardant jacket and, often, are made of low-smoke materials. The Vanco VGA-VGA-100PL S-VGA is a 100’ male-to-male UL plenum rated cable.
SVGA- also called DB-15, HD15, D-Sub, and RGB- is a 15-pin analog video cable frequently used to connect computers, monitors, and projectors. Many new televisions also feature a VGA PC input option. The Vanco VGA-VGA-100PL plays by the strictest safety rules while offering all the bells and whistles of our regular SVGA cables. They can be substituted for standard VGA in any application. These cables can support resolutions up to 800x600 and 720p which makes them perfect for everyday use, presentations, and even streaming video.
Vanco’s 100’ VGA-VGA-100PL is composed of a thick 26 AWG coaxial core with foil shielding, design improvements that allow the signal to travel longer distances without interference or degradation. The plenum SVGA cables are available in lengths from 6’ to 100’ and they can be combined with splitters and switches for customized display solutions. The sturdy pins, flexible jacket and durable head mean this cable will last through years of use. Vanco also provides a one-year limited warranty for their plenum VGA cables against any manufacturer defects.
