IR or CEC?
The Super IR series is a great way to consolidate functionality among Vanco products (HDMI Matrixes, Splitters, Switchers, etc), that are Super IR enabled, providing a setup controlled by a single remote. This adapter connects to an HDMI cable, which then allows it to switch between "IR" mode or "CEC" mode.
There is a switch that demarcates the IR setting from the CEC one. Their respective functions are similar: to provide a one touch solution for a multimedia system, and this adapter makes it easy to configure your particular system to either.
This adapter coupled with an IR Transmitter and Receiver can extend the mediocre range on HDMI cables to 100m/328ft.
This adapter should fit any HDMI cable. It can work as a standalone device to transmit over the HDMI cable or can be used with the rest of the kit for Super IR functionality.
