Sync, Charge, and Convenience Enabled
A USB charger for a wall outlet coupled with a micro USB to USB type A cable. This combo allows for file synchronization between devices, has high speed data transfers, and can be connected to multiple sources of power.
File Synchronization. Most commonly seen in its inclusion in iTunes, this feature allows for changes in one device to be reflected in the connected device and vice-versa. Software is usually needed to sync files; however, many smartphones, which is likely to be the common application with this cable, contain this necessary program. With file sync, backing up data is easily done and efficiency, which is to say the way data is manipulated between devices, is high.
High Speed Data Transfers The USB 2.0 standard specifies transfer rates of up to 480 Mbit/s. For comparison, cable modems have data rates of ~256 kbps up to 4.0 MB/s (for the absolute premium service provided by a telcom provider). With this kind of speed, downloading or copying files from another location is a breeze, but the USB rate of 60 MB/s (480 Mbit/s) completely blows the highest speed attainable through service carriers out of the water. The difference is that of minutes to hours.
Multiple Sources of Power. With a USB cable and wall charger there is multiple sources from which to draw power for a USB device. The cable alone can connect to a computer or other such device that outputs USB power. The wall charger can plug into a standard wall outlet for a similar function to that of the computer. With this option, the only place you will likely not have power is in the car, but their are
chargers for that as well.
