HDMI failures in the field have become more and more prevalent due to the inconsistency of hardware, lack of setup knowledge and the limited distances of transmission. Through research, Ethereal has discovered that most failures in the field were due not just to gain and frequency response issues from long cables.
Inconsistent capacitive loading on the Low Speed Buss creates the vast majority of HDCP and audio related issues. Ethereal Home Theater created the first of its kind correction circuit that repairs corrupt data from inferior loading on the HDCP and EDID communication channel employing a patented* Line Driver with built in Diagnostics.
Not sure of why your setup isn't working properly? Checked the troubleshooting guide on the HDMI website and found it a bit general for your liking? Then this unit might be for you. This product will deduce what is malfunctioning with 9 LEDs that inform you of the various circuits' operation status. If you find the cable to be working properly then you will know that it is likely an issue with the hardware or perhaps an interoperability problem.
Telling you of a problem is one thing, but providing a solution is another. Ethereal's correction circuit repairs corrupt data from inferior loading on the HDCP and EDID communication channel. This type of loading is a leading cause in HDMI issues because of the way EDID and HDCP must communicate with the source and sink devices for proper function. If the cable is to blame for not passing this data, then this tester will fix it.
This tester kit comes with two units for testing: a transmitter and a receiver to simulate a normal HDMI set up.
