works great!

I got this to use on my MacBook - since it has digital optical out. I didn't realize that it would output optical, but it definitely WILL, but requires this adapter and a toslink cable to input into your surround receiver. This is cheap and definitely worth it if you want to use your MacBook for playing Hulu, YouTube, or audio with digital clarity
