What is VESA?
VESA, which stands for Video Electronics Standards Association, is an industry-adopted measurement used by manufacturers to indicate the mounting hole pattern on the back of a TV. VESA determines this calculation by measuring the horizontal and vertical distances in millimeters between mounting holes on a TV or mount.
For example, if the VESA pattern on a TV is 800 X 400, the mounting holes on that particular unit measure 800 millimeters apart horizontally and 400 millimeters apart vertically.
You can determine the VESA measurement for your particular TV by consulting your owner's manual, the manufacturer's website, or measuring the mounting hole pattern yourself.
