The Atlona AT-HD600 is a 10-input switcher with a single HDMI output.
The Atlona switcher is able to switch and convert any of the 2 x composite, 2 x S-Video, 2 x component video, 1 x VGA and 3 x HDMI to a single HDMI output. So no matter how old the device you will be able to scale it to a crisp and quality HDMI output.
The HD600 can be controlled though IR remote, RS232 or though manual button selection on the front panel. The remote will likely be most applications giving you the convenience of IR but it is always good to know that there is a manual option available because remotes sometimes get lost for extended periods; and at the very least, manual switching on the AT-HD600 will be less annoying than plugging and unplugging various devices whenever you want to use them.
The HDMI utilizes audio and video all into one output, while some other forms of input have separate connectors for audio, the AT-HD600 merges them so that only one cable is needed for HDMI. Scaling is also available in that resolutions that are inputted into the device can be given the 1080p treatment.
