Splitting HDMI signal
I have a Dish Network, Hidef dual tuner, and want to run a Hidef signal to both my Sony XBR2 and XBR6. The XBR6 is connected with a 4' cable. I purchased this splitter as well as a 50' Hidef cable. The splitter will send the video signal but will not send the Hidef audio signal. It worked fine for the standard def stations but did not work for the Hidef signals. Don't really know if the video was in HD format. Info says the splitter will work up to 15 meters, almost exactly 50 feet but you have to include the length of the cable supplying the splitter. Upgraded to the next splitter indicating it would run power a 100' cable and it works fine. However, the info with the splitter indicates you would need to put the splitter in the middle of the 100 foot cable to make it work.

power is required for some devices
the product worked really well when connecting my sources directly to the splitter, unfortunately it didn't work with the onkyo receiver's hdmi out. something tech support at firefold helped me discover.
the product is great, service is great if it had worked with the onkyo it would get 5 stars.
// edit: i was able to get this working by connecting the device to the power adapter. seems like a silly oversight, but technically the device should work without power and did so admirably when connected to anything but the onkyo receiver.

Solved my vexing HDMI problems!
I'm writing this review to help out anyone who may have the very discouraging problem I was having with my PS3 blu-ray player, which this splitter solved by allowing me to provide independent HDMI feeds to my TV and receiver. Basically, I had what I believe was an HDMI handshake issue, in which there was a communication failure once during every blu-ray disc, around 15 minutes into the movie. I had my PS3 connected by HDMI to a Denon 4306, which which was itself connected by HDMI to a Sony XBR2 TV. I know others have this problem, and it may be the Denon that is the culprit. To make a long story short, I'd seen some comments on forums that suggested splitting out the signal to the TV for video and the AV receiver for audio. So I came to Firefold. And the splitter solved the problem. I now have separate feeds to my TV and receiver, and experience no more dropouts. Thank goodness! And thank you Firefold! By the way, the red status LEDs on the splitter are way too bright - they light up my entire entertainment system. A small price to pay, but maybe Firefold can fix this in the next version.

Only took me 5 minutes
Five minutes from box to installed. Have 2 Sony Bravia LCDs (32" and 46", 1080i) connected to a Dish HD DVR, 6' HDMI cable to the splitter, out to 6' and 33' (10 meter) HDMI cables. Perfect picture on both sets, at a fraction of the cost for similar products from other vendors. Also, shipping was incredibly fast and reasonable. I'll be back.

everything works great
I've a PS3 that is hooked up to two 720p HDTV using this splitter; one is connected to a 6' HDMI cable and the other is 30' HDMI cable. I've no problem playing game or watching Blu-ray Disc (BD) or DVD. There is no problem w/ picture quality. I would definitely recommended this product because the price is reasonable and it works!

Wow, this product works amazingly.
I currently have an Xbox 360 Elite with HDMI going into the splitter, and then from the splitter to my HDTV and also to my PC's HDMI Capture Card (Blackmagic Intensity). There is absolutely no loss of signal or any latency issues. I can still play Guitar Hero II in 720P on my HDTV while capturing using my PC. Looks and plays just like there is no splitter at all. I am using a 6' HDMI cable to the splitter, and two 12' HDMI cables off of the splitter to my PC and HDTV. I would HIGHLY recommend this product. I have no HDCP issues using my 360 to the HDTV (which supports HDCP) and the capture card (which does not support HDCP) via the splitter. Again, I am astounded at the fact that there is no added latency, and there is no loss in quality.

Really works for picky HDMI splitting--even audio!
Not all splitters are created equal and I have the most difficult scenario there is. Most people need to run two video leads, but my 1.1 receiver wouldn't talk to my 1.3 TV so I needed to split the signal from my PS3 into my TV for video and receiver for 7.1 audio. I can bet there are others looking to do that. This one works for that--it's fully synched AND it doesn't even need the power supply plugged in! Once hooked in and having minor glitches it now works flawlessly, and if there's a signal degregation for either audio or video I can't detect it. The only gripe is the front lights that show HDMI status could guide a 747 in from miles away--but that's a small price to pay. Great product!!
