With the 10/100 BaseT RJ45 Plug to 2Jack Pair Split Adapter you will be able to hook up two devices to a single Cat5e jack. It would seem that doing the aforementioned would give you two Ethernet ports to play around with but be advised that it doesn't. This device works in pairs. Given that, this device is wonderful if you are low on Cat5 jacks and have more than one device that you need to hook up. Simply plug one device into your work area network port and another unit to the corresponding patch panel port. This product is probably best suited for a cabling system that utilizes some sort of patch panel.
Turns one port into two, but not in the sense that a splitter does. Use this device to easily plug in two devices, or swap several without having to go to that room with all of the racks and cables.
